Before a number is even thought of, the performer openly displays a single card with a different back design from the rest of the deck and fairly inserts it among the cards. A spectator then freely thinks of any number between 1 and 52. The spectator counts the cards themselves. When they reach their freely chosen number, the impossible is revealed. The only odd-backed card in the entire deck is sitting at that exact position. No switches. No suspicious moves. No handling by the magician. Just an unforgettable moment of pure impossibility.
