"If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales."-
Albert EinsteinWe all grew up on bedtime stories that began with "Once upon a time..." and promised a comforting "Happily ever after." We marvelled at heroic princes, enchanted princesses, and magical beings. But the original folklore collected by the Brothers Grimm and ancient storytellers was far darker, raw, and twisted than the sanitized versions we know today. Some even say these tales were rooted in real historical tragedy.
